Spreading positivity through Journalism – News Sense

Jaydeep Das Gupta has been in mainstream journalism for 15 years and has worked with companies like Zee News, Sahara News etc. But he wasn’t satisfied with stories that these companies focus and broadcasted. So he left his job and took to freelance Journalism and wrote for various digital platforms and took up documentary filmmaking for a living.

It was in the year 2016 when he was awarded UNFPA in New Delhi that boosted his interest in working in the field of Developmental Journalism and this started the journey of News Sense, a platform where positive stories can be shared without any marketing and editorial compulsion.

News Sense is a digital communication initiative that seeks to spread positivity around by informing, analyzing, engaging and promoting good works and useful information. The mission of News Sense is to spread positivity around. News Sense features stories of unsung heroes, development stories and stories of change led by communities, civil society, and individuals. Along with promoting developmental stories, News Sense is also engaged in Social workshops, Training programs, Research, Documentation and also documentary filming on subjects and issues that concern our society.

Jaydeep Das Gupta started this company alone at the age of 36. Though various students volunteered and he has the support of his friends and his wife Kamalika who stood by him and encouraged him in his venture. He is being appreciated for his efforts and his readers are what keeps him motivated.
